Description

Lake Norman Spider (Carpenter K 1981) 4 fan clump.  28",Dip,8",Dor,M,Frag,Ext,UFO

Our gardens are in Michigan, and our fans are not going to be as large as those of southern or greenhouse growers, but they are healthy and have good root systems. Bonus: Rust is not a problem in our zone 5 gardens! And anything we list has probably survived at least one brutal Michigan winter, so if you live in the north, hardiness should not be a concern.   We don’t use BAP, nor do we own a greenhouse.  Pendergriff South is a state licensed and inspected nursery.

Shipping is $9 for the first plant and $1 for each additional FAN. We will consider whichever purchase has the most fans to be your first plant. We ship by priority mail, and only to the continental United States. Sorry, but we do not ship plants internationally.

PayPal is preferred, but we also accept personal checks and money orders. Payment is due within 10 days of auction close. If payment is by check, shipment will be after check clears. If you wish us to hold items to combine shipping, please let us know when submitting payment--and please include your Lily Auction ID when paying, so we can post the payment to the proper person.

We will start shipping plants in early to mid May, depending  on the weather.

FIRST TIME BUYERS PLEASE READ:

Next spring , I will have been selling daylilies on the auctions for over 14 years. I have 1000's of satisfied customers and have 100% positive feedback. My daylily plants look different when you receive them than ones you receive from the other sellers. All my plants are stripped down which makes them look smaller than what you might be expecting. They are high pressure washed to remove all the mud and dirt. There are a number of reasons for me doing this to my plants which is all for YOUR BENEFIT. It is a very time consuming process each plant goes through.
1. All the outer foliage on a daylily plant will die after it is transplanted. So if I remove it before shipping they will look better growing in your garden.
2. If I remove the outer leaves here, the plant will not struggle trying to keep the foliage green as it always dies a slow death. This lets my plants start to recover from transplanting quickly. Most every one will start to show new growth within days (4 or 5 at most).
3. Removing the outer parts of the plants destroys the hiding places for insects. They are stripped down to where they are almost white in appearance. Tops are cut down to an average of 6 inches. Some are shorter it depends on the type of foliage on the cultivar.
4. The crown part of the plants are cleaned top and BOTTOM. No place is left un-inspected after the high pressure wash to ensure there are NO pests hiding anywhere.
5. Every plant is submerged in a mixture of Green Magic and water. This kills any pest which I might have possibly missed for some reason. It also disinfects the plants of all bacteria.
6. They are all placed out in the sun on concrete to dry, so they may arrive a little yellow. Shipping them dry helps prevent mold, mildew, and crown rot. Soaking in water an hour or two before planting is all they need.
7. Daylily plants dressed down will multiply much more quickly than one planted with all foliage intact. My plants will be on the way to forming a clump quicker, because of the way I ship them.

Singular Sensation x Bass Gibson 2 large fans bloomed

Please email me for larger photo of this seedling. Edge displayed nice  bumpy tooth-like projections... next generation from this should give you substantial TEETH. THX

Bed 6   These large fans are doing the big V formation. I may have to separate them to fit them in a shipping box :)  You will have all of this seedling to do with as you please. Wishing the new owner  a great seedling.

<  NO RUST>

>>>>  A point of clarification. A recent buyer expressed dissatisfaction  on the small spring size of SOME  my one yr old seedlings. That means they are 16 months from when started from seed. We do not baby these in a greenhouse environment. Rest assured what you received is the same size as what remains for me to grow on in my garden. It is important to remember that these seedlings expend a lot of energy getting thru the long winters we have in zone 5. One must also look at root mass and quality. The fact that the genes have survived a brutal winter should be very encouraging. Daylilies are tough plants and I rarely lose one, when transplanting in the spring. With the cold and nasty spring we have had, many people have been  very understanding and I thank those customers from the bottom of my heart.

These current seedlings offered have much more age, thus their roots, crowns and fans are large ( unless noted in the ad).  As much as I like to send a lush huge plant, these may have to be trimmed back "slightly" to cut off unsightly leaves that have experienced trauma from the move.  Note: one photo is of mature bloom on offered seedling, other photo is of these babies potted in 2 gallon containers...The containers are for holding purposes only. We do not pot grow our daylilies. Thank you very much for looking at these auctions.

Please google for my Running Fox Farm BLOG on blogspot to see a full detailed description of seedling growth, with photos...I have an open sharing policy and invite any questions fielded through the LILY auction website.

This spring has been a killer... warm, cold, warm cold...rain, snow, rain...! NOW add a heat wave!!!  But the daylilies are plugging away and are coming up regardless of what mother nature has to say.. :)

I will be offering auctions of single seedlings and multiple seedlings from my 3+ year old beds.   They must all GO... my keepers have been selected!  Thanks for looking!

NOTE:  Gift seedlings of the same cross may not be possible due to limited availablilty...we WILL try to give a NICE gift seedling or two with each order.

***  We have added the best new intros from many hybridizers last fall and this spring. We hope to intrigue you  with outstanding seed offerings this fall.  Emphasis will be on patterns ( DIPS and TETS)  and teeth! We can't wait to get started :)***

***Payment due within 10 days.  Checks must clear.  Shipping to USA  only.

NOTE:  I will be taking a brief trip the third week of June to Chicago to visit my son and a dear daylily friend or two. Your daylily will be shipped..around this trip.. but please feel free to contact me before you bid, for specific shipping requirements you may need  ...THANKS!!!

****Thank you for looking at our auctions!      Thank you for your support.. we  really appreciate it!

A WORD ABOUT PUTTING PLANT NAMES ON ZINC NAMEPLATES

WARNING !!! Most if not all magic markers, flet tip markers, Sharpies, industrial markers, waterproof and fade proof markers, nursery markers etc. etc. WILL NOT LAST LONG ON THE ZINC NAMEPLATES. Some of these will not last longer than a couple of months under garden conditions.

We do not sell but highly recommend:

1. Exterior metal paint or Paint pens. Paint pens are very convenient and can be purchased at your local X-Mart or Craft Shop. We have used Painters Medium Black Opaque Paint markers with great success. We have noticed very little fading after 4 years in the garden using paint or paint pens.

2. Laser printed clear address labels. We are currently using Avery 5660 and 5661 clear laser address labels and Avery 5520 weatherproof white address labels (laser Printed) with great success. After 4 years in the garden they show little if any fading and we have never had one of them come off. Do not even attempt to use labels printed with an ink jet printer, they will not last.

We have also used crayon and china markers with good success. We don't consider them as good as the first 2 methods mentioned but they will last for 2 or more years.

We have also heard that some of the embossed labels used in the Brothers and other labeling systems work quite well but we have no personal experience with them.

Description

Journey of Magic

(Royal Cypher x Ruffles Have Ripples) x (Royal Cypher x Blue Eden). Sev. 6.5" fl. 30" sc. M 30-40 buds. Average to good rust resistance. Fertile both ways. Royal Cypher was an important break for me in the patterns because of its complex face and tall scape, so I kept trying to compound its great traits. Journey of Magic obviously captured the very best of Royal Cypher, taking it to another level. The dramatic, dark violet pattern eye is surrounded by a burgundy mascara and continues out, highlighting the petals as a multi-colored picotee, which is surrounded by a bubbly gold edge. The pattern is set against a background of pale flesh pink. Journey of Magic has one of the best scapes I have ever seen in a daylily, with branches on branches. It is also the most ornately and dramatically ruffled pattern daylily that I know of. Virtually every flower is a shocker, covered with ruffled angel wings on every petal. Daylily aficionado Norman Hughes from Pennsylvania saw Journey of Magic and said, "that's the one I am waiting for." Say goodbye to patterns on simple flowers and mediocre scapes, and say hello to the ornate and magnificent Journey of Magic. SINGLE FAN Please always mention your auction user name when contacting us. We personally hand dig all of your Daylilies and ship within 24 hours to insure that you get fresh live plants! State inspected and licensed nursery. We accept checks and money orders. Our Guarantee: If not satisfied, do not plant. Return immediately to us for full refund. We ship to all States but we do not ship outside of the United States. Payment is due within 10 days of Auction Closing. Shipping $10.00 for the first plant and $3.00 for each additional plant. . At the time of shipment, we always try to send the largest plants of the variety that you purchased. If you have any questions feel free to ask us. Don't forget to check out our other auctions. Here is an extremely fine breeder and garden plant with blooms in shades matching the outer skin of butternut squashes. The handsome blooms are brightened by paprika red-orange eyezones and yellow-to-green throats. The substance and color are quite sunfast. The elegantly formed flowers are full and wide, with pleated and ruffled edges shaded in darker reddish orange. The strongly recurrent scapes have widely spaced 3-4 way branching. Has proven hardy at minus 10 degrees - with wide temperature swings. Fertile and a superb parent.

NOTE: There are no bonus with these auctions so I will start these out at low starting bids; I will also have a buy it now price for those who wish to do so.  Some of these may have extra fans (no guarantee) and you will get these as well.

I have quite a list and it will take me a few days to get it all listed so please check back often to see what may be newly listed

FLAT FACE Sandy Holmes. Sdlg A-55 (Wild Wookie X Velvet Ribbons) Cascade, Evergreen, Tetraploid,Re. Mid, 5", 30 buds, 40" H, 4 Way Branching

FLAT FACE is a garden nickname that just stuck. FLAT FACE is tightly rolled measuring 5 inches. The waxy orange throat, which covers the entire face of the flower is strikingly beautiful. The orange throat is a rare exception to my green throat daylily preference. The flower is reddish-orange in color and has a wingspan of about 10 inches. Larry Grace has grown FLAT FACE for several seasons. He rarely grows Ufo's but made an exception for this daylily because in his garden every bloom is perfect and it has show quality scapes. The plant quality does diminishes z. 5 and below. Therefore for full plant performance, I'd recommend FLAT FACE to be a Southern daylily. Pod and pollen fertile

Payment is due within 10 days of auction close by check or money order PREFERRED (checks will need to clear before shipping) but I will accept PayPal.  If paying with PayPal PLEASE wait until you know you are finished bidding to pay so there is only one transaction fee. Please put auction username on all payments.

Shipping will be USPS Priority Mail with confirmation within the Continental US, $10 for first item plus $3.00 each additional item shipped at same time to same address.

Lucky Streak (Murphy JP 2007, AHS Honorable Mention 2012) DF.  37",Dip,7",Dor,ML,Frag,Ext,UFO

ANGELS IN HEAVEN (Sunday Sandals X Blue Hippo) 6" flower, 30" scapes.  "This round full pale ivory bloom has a pale gray blue eye etched in violet.  The double edge is violet and purple surrounded by gold.  This extremely vigorous, strongly reblooming cultivar has 3 branches and about 16 blooms per scape.  ANGELS OF HEAVEN was named for an event that happened to me during my hospital stay.  Following a second emergency heart surgery, I was in intensive care with a serious heart rhythm problem and a rising fever.  Unable to sleep, but with my eyes closed I marked the passage of the night by the hourly tightening of a blood pressure cuff.  During one such hourly passage, I became aware that my room was now about half lit when "somebody" put their hand onto my right shoulder.  Thinking I had missed Jane or a nurse coming into my room, I quickly opened my eyes only to find the room dark and I was alone.  Moments later the room again became half lit and again "somebody" put their hand on my right shoulder.  I waited several seconds and then quickly opened my eyes only again to find the room dark with no one there.  I didn't feel quite right so I rang for my nurses.  When they attended me they were very surprised to find that within that hour my heart had gone back into rhythm and that my fever had returned to normal.  There are angels in heaven!"

LITTLE JAZZMAN
(Stamile, G. 2009)
Diploid D445A [(Sdlg 201-5 x Little Liza Jane) X (Sdlg D20-8 x Sdlg D99-48)] 20" EMRe. no fr. SEv. 2.5" . 5-6 way branching. 36 buds. LITTLE JAZZMAN is one of my personal favorites of Grace's fall introductions. This purple and cream bicolor with a lighter purple watermark demonstrates one of the myriad of combinations of color Grace is getting in the miniatures. I took one of the LITTLE JAZZMAN seedlings and converted it into a tetraploid and now both Grace and I are using it. Fertile both ways and a really neat flower.

Closed: Wed Dec 31 16:00:00 1969
Number of Bids: 1
High Bid: $80.00
High Bidder: Springcolor (134) 50-499

Description

200 Brand New 11.5" Tall Plant Markers

If you would like 25, 300, 400 or 500 of these plant markers they can be found in the DAYLILY STORE under GARDEN TOOLS. Quantities of 50, 100 or 200 are listed under HYBRIDIZING TOOLS under TOOLS.

PLANT MARKER DESCRIPTION: These plant markers as shown in the picture to the left are 11.5" tall. The 1 1/4" high and 3 1/2" wide Zinc namplate with rounded corners is tilted slightly to the rear so it is easier to read in the garden. The legs insert through 4 holes in the nameplate and are made of galvanized steel wire. This combination will give you years of service.

The gray color of the plant markers compliments your garden. They do not stick out like a sore thumb or blow away like so many of the non metal plant markers.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email us.

PAYMENT: We accept PayPal, money orders and cashier's or personal checks (personal check orders are held until your check clears our bank). Pennsylvania residents please add 6% sales tax. We normally ship within 2 days of receiving PayPal or Money Order payments or when your check clears.

SHIPPING CHARGE: We charge a flat rate of $9 to ship from 25 to 200 11.5" plant markers and $12 to ship from 201 to 500 11.5" plant markers in one package to one address. We normally ship within 1 to 2 days after we receive your cleared payment.

JAMES' PRISSY KRISTI (Alexa Katherine) X (Moment In the Sun x Macho Macho Man) 8" flower, 32" scapes, 25-30 buds. "These massive flowers start the season as a lavender, softening to a copper rose with a green throat and huge ruffled and looped gold to chartreuse edges. While sometimes the color does not seem as clear as I would like, the flowers are always unbelievably dramatic. Every garden visitor was knocked over by these flowers and they were much admired by a number of hybridizers. It was Larry Grace's number one pick a couple of years ago. When I asked why, he said, "Ted, how many 8" flower sith 1" green edges to you know of?' Well I guess that says it all! The extremely fertile flowers rarely hang and are beautifully displayed on tall scapes."

*FIJI (Stamile, P.) TET 5112 (Zephyr's Song x Judy Farquhar) 28" EMRe. emo. Ev. 7" x 4 1/8" x 2 ¾". 3-way branching. 18-21 buds. We are not known for doing huge apricot oranges with coral overtones, yet along comes FIJI, from the orange and pink base in both ZEPHYR'S SONG and JUDY FARQUHAR. Many things make FIJI special. It is one of the few apricot oranges with coral overtones with a bright gold edging on both petals and sepals. Moreover, the edges of the flowers have some of the deepest looping ruffles that I have ever seen in a daylily. One day I measured from the top of the loop to the surface of the flower and it was an amazing 2". The beautiful "angel wings" are also edged in gold. FIJI also has exceptional substance, deep blue green foliage, excellent plant proportions and scape to foliage height. Fertile both ways. Outstanding!

FANG AND CLAW
(Benz, 2008)
tet 38" M. Dor. (Forestlake Ragamuffin X Tet. Spindazzle)What a cross! When the 82 sibs from the cross of (FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN X TETRA SPINDAZZLE) bloomed, I flagged nearly half of them. Overall quality was so high, I refused to move them and planted the new seedlings around them. Although nearly every seedling in this cross had lace and fringe, only FANG AND CLAW had this dramatic shark's tooth edge. This 6 1/2" bronze bi-tone is simply engulfed in 1/2" golden-yellow lace and teeth. When Suzanne Karl saw FANG AND CLAW in the seedling bed, she said, "You should name this one "JAMIE'S DROOLER;" when Jamie Gossard sees it, he's gonna drool!" And the name stuck. This one has the best branching of the sibs, with 3-4 lateral branches and a terminal cluster, and a bud count of 30 or more, and is the most reliable re-bloomer as well. Incredibly potent pollen; pods require persistence. Not pod-sterile, but very difficult. The awesome jagged saw-tooth edge is, of course the major feature of this daylily, and I have seen these big gold teeth jut three-quarters of an inch off the petals of these blooms. Best of all, FANG AND CLAW is bestowing these impressive shark's teeth in a wide array of colors.

(Lambertson 2010)
TET 6.5"SevERe27" [Metaphysical Moment X Seedling]
HYACINTH MACAW is the largest in this class of birds. HYACINTH MACAW is easily the most dynamic eye I ever created. HYACINTH MACAW is an early to late season bloomer with light lavender petals and sepals. Its gigantic eye and edge are the most saturated color of deep blue-purple, with the outer eye and inner petal edge a rich purple. The sepal's eye is more muted and looks patterned. HYACINTH MACAW has a bold green throat, 2 to 3-way branching, 20 buds and fertile both ways. Truly spectacular!

HEMAN
(Gossard, James) 2008 introduction

(Forestlake Ragamuffin) x ( Startling Creation x Jaws of Life)
TET 35" MLate Dormant emo Rebloomer 9" 3-4 way branching 18-22 buds. Fertile both ways.

Heman, the name says it all, the biggest baddest daylily in the universe. I have seen first blooms at 10 inches with a monster 1 inch edge. Heman is an improved HEAVENLY BEGINNINGS, with better color and bigger edge. I know of no other large daylily with such a gigantic edge, it always has a 1/2 to 3/4 inch edge no matter the environmental conditions. Flowers are a blended orange-red with huge 3/4 to 1 inch gold yellow edges. Teeth are on both petals and sepals, throat is yellow green. Flowers are bitone with sepals being more blended with yellow People have been talking about how to get edges on the spiders, Heman is a key parent for obtaining this quest. It has been an outstanding parent for me. Contains the full set of cold hardy genetics. Will become a legend

Crayola City (Reilly, 2008)

height 37", bloom 6", season M, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Tetraploid, 21 buds, 3 branches,  Parchment white with grape wine eye with light gold picotee edge above deep green throat. (Mandalay Bay Music × (sdlg × Tet. Purple Eyed Magic))

Hybridizers description:

CRAYOLA CITY(Reilly, 2008) (Mandalay Bay Music) x (Gillian x Sdlg) X TET Purple-Eyed Magic  Tetraploid, SEV., 6” Blossom, 37” Tall,  3 Branches plus Terminal, 21 Buds per Scape, Reblooms here.

A Stately scape with very bright blossoms, good dark green foliage, and marvelous plant habit. CRAYOLA CITY is a great daylily, and she’s fertile both ways. What more could I ask for?  A small gold edge imparts a nice “frame” to these lovely blooms. The tall scapes display the flowers well above the foliage, and they hold up very well here in our Florida heat. The Pollen parent was Tet Purple-Eyed Magic, a converted Jack Carpenter beauty that has proven to be a valuable asset to my program. We think that you will see the value in the genetics, too.

CRAYOLA CITY occasionally throws small white teeth around the petals. A bonus!

Nancy Billingslea (Stamile, 2004)

height 30", bloom 7.5", season EE, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Tetraploid, 30 buds, 6 branches,  Blue pink self above green throat. ((San Ignacio × Ed Brown) × Tet. Grace Pierce)

Hybridizers Description:

NANCY BILLINGSLEA (Stamile, P. 2005) TET 1232-D [(San Ignacio x Ed Brown) X Tetra Grace Pierce] 30” EERe. Ev. fr. emo. 7 ½” x 4” x3”. 6-way branching. 25-30 buds. NANCY BILLINGSLEA is named for the wife of a friend and tireless worker for the American Hemerocallis Society, Oliver Billingslea. Size counts!! And NANCY BILLINGSLEA is easily the largest of the triumvirate of RUFFLED MASTERWORK, SONGWRITER and NANCY BILLINGSLEA. In fact, with petals of 4” and early flowers at 8” this is one of the largest of the hundreds of Tetra Grace Pierce seedlings I have bloomed. Best of all NANCY BILLINGSLEA is one of the most beautiful shades of pink. Anyone who knows me knows I am very fussy about pink color. It is a remarkable achievement to bring size, color, form and plant habit together in one flower. Simply gorgeous. Fertile both ways.

First name is the pod parent.

All seeds are fresh from the 2012 growing season and were air-dried for at least 1 week before being refrigerated . Seeds will have been chilled for a minimum of 3 weeks by auction's end. If not planting immediately, please re-refrigerate seeds upon arrival until planting time. If refrigerating, you might want to pull them out of the bags and air dry for a few hours first in case temperature changes during shipping caused any condensation inside the zip-locks.If you are new to daylilies, please be aware that the size and shape of seeds can vary enormously. Some are round, some oblong, some large, some small. Some dry with hardly any wrinkling or shriveling, while others "prune up" quite a lot. Seeds are inspected before shipping, and we will not send any we would not plant ourselves. While the majority of seeds germinate within the first couple weeks of being planted, please do realize that some seeds are "dormant" and may take months.

*Shipping is $3.00 up to 10 Wins when SHIPPED TOGETHER IN ONE ENVELOPE.  USA only. Please advise whether to ship/hold each seed win- thank you!

*SINCE OUR LILY AUCTION FEES MUST BE KEPT CURRENT, PLEASE REMIT PAYMENT WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE AUCTION'S CLOSE UNLESS OTHER ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE.

*CHECK OR MONEY ORDERS ACCEPTED.

Hybridizers description

James's Prissy Kristi
(Petit Fall2008)
Daylily Tetraploid. * 'James's Prissy Kristi' -- (Alexa Katherine) x (Moment in the Sun x Macho Macho Man) Sev. 8 "fl. 32" sc. M 25 -30 buds. They keep getting bigger and more shocking every year! These massive flowers start the season as a lavender, softening to a copper rose, with a green throat and huge ruffled and looped gold to chartreuse edges. While sometimes the color does not seem as clear as I would like, the flowers are always unbelievably dramatic. Every garden visitor was knocked-over by these flowers, and they were much admired by a number of hybridizers. It was Larry Grace's number one pick a couple of years ago. When I asked why, he said, "Ted, how many 8" flowers with 1" green edges do you know of?" Well, I guess that says it all! The extremely fertile flowers rarely hang, and are beautifully displayed on tall scapes. The daylily connoisseur James Hall was so impressed that he asked me to name it for his granddaughter. My most used parent for the last several years for gigantic flowers with massive edges.

Payment is due within 10 days of auction close by check or money order (checks will need to clear before shipping). Please put auction username on all payments.

Shipping will be USPS Priority Mail with confirmation within the Continental US, $10 for first item plus $3 for each additional item shipped at same time to the same address.

Description

You are bidding on a double fan of:

PATCH OF BLUE: (Grace Stamile 2006) 21" H 3.5" Bloom  Diploid ((Little Sensation x sdlg) x (sdlg x Little Angel Eyes)) x sdlg  Patterned Blue Eye

From the breeder:  "You can easily see the blue color in this daylily.  While the base color of this flower is an orchid magenta, seeing PATCH OF BLUE and Grace's other blues gives the entire daylily patch a blue cast that is very unusual in the world of daylilies...  Fertile both ways."

This is an amazing blue eyed marvel.  Lovely.

Double small blooming size fan or two single fans if they separate when I dig them.  (In my garden, this is a smaller plant, but the fans I will send bloomed beautifully last year)

I will always endeavor to send good, healthy plants - by priority mail.

If you are not happy for any reason, contact me ASAP.  Let's both be happy.

Please pay in a timely manner (just let me know if you are perusing more of my items).

Description

Men In Black (Larry’s Obsession) x {[(Fortune Dearest x Barracuda Bay) x (Mort Morss)] x Larry’s Obsession} Sev. 5.5 - 6" fl. 35-37" sc. M 20 buds. I have bred more near black daylilies than most, including the immensely popular Larry’s Obsession, and I love them with dramatic gold or toothy edges. Men In Black takes these lines to a new height. The very dark, rich, near black purple flowers are a knock-out in the garden. The saturated flowers are accented by a cool, deep green throat. The ruffled petal and sepal edges are surrounded by large white teeth. The form is wonderful with wide, full petals. The flowers are easily fertile both ways and the plants have excellent rust resistance and are cold hardy. The flowers are presented on tall scapes. It is easy to see why Men In Black was one of Pat Stamile’s two favorite plants in my garden.

I have taken an inventory and it is time to clear out the sales area. Time has gotten away from us with so many projects going on that these were failed to be listed and now they need to go.

If you like tall stately spiders with strong erect scapes you will love VERTIGO. It easily passes my scape strength and flexibility test which I give to all my real tall spiders. I take the top of the scape and pull it 12” from the vertical. If the scape does not bend or crack and springs back to vertical it has both the necessary strength and flexibility that I like to see in really tall daylilies.

VERTIGO is one of my narrowest true spiders with the size and gentle twisting that make it a standout in the garden. The color is a plum lavender with a true lavender watermark and citron green throat. Excellent. Fertile both ways but a difficult pod parent.

FASHION POLICE
(Dan Trimmer) Tetraploid (Spice Hunter x Calling All Angels) 34" M. Re. 6 1/4" Ev. Ever since I first started crossing for eyes and edges I've pursued base colors other than lavender based flowers. Spice Hunter has been the source of much of this breeding. When I crossed onto the smallish Calling All Angels I never expected an offspring with larger blooms than either parent, but that is what I got with the over 6" blooms of FASHION POLICE. The eye is large and the edge usually in excess of one half inch can at times exceed one inch. The eye/edge color is an unusual pale shade of mahogany red. Fertile, vigorous, and well branched describe FASHION POLICE. Plants are quite large with slender arched foliage.

Swallow Tail Kite (Hanson C 1998) 4 fans.  44",Tet,6.50",SEv,EM,Frag

30" EM Re Ext SEV 5.75" TET

These are sleek and luscious, smooth and gorgeous, shades of medium carrot-orange blooms, with a suffusion of red. The wide petals overlap and present a very full and compelling form. Color deepens above the yellow-green throat. The petals often show a tightly ruffled gold edge. The shape is full with wide petals and it's another early-morning-opener. Fat sepals roll back less in cool weather than in hot climates. The finish is silky, and both substance and color hold well in the heat. Scapes have 3 way branching with up to 25 buds. An easy parent that is giving a fresh look to its seedlings.

You will receive a very nice TRIPLE fan.

Description

Raspberry Swirl (Klehm 1993 30",Dip,4.50",Dor,M) DF.

Weird and often severe weather left us with lots of unbloomed seedlings this year. We are transplanting several thousand new seedlings to the field, and the unbloomed seedlings have to go. These seedlings are one year old, and sold as single fan auctions. Some of them are more than one fan, but listed as singles.

Buyer will have all of this daylily, and is free to register the plant or do as you wish with it.

Single fan.
Spring Shipping, as soon as the plants are ready. Personal checks require a two week wait until shipment.
USA shipping only

Description

In most cases, you will find the HYBRIDIZERS NOTES below.--WE DO NOT SELL undersized PLANTS!

We mix our own soil, including alfalfa, bone meal, blood meal and WORM CASTINGS. We feed primarily with Miracle Grow with minors and SEAWEED CONCENTRATE. We do not force our plants. We use good old sunshine, water and nutrients. We rely heavily on organic products for insect and disease control---we have LADYBUGS, GREEN LACEWINGS AND PRAYING MANTIS on patrol for us.

You are bidding on a HUGE single fan of this pattern producer.

SP. SEA SHELLS 5 1/2" flowers, 30" scapes, 23 buds.  "Patterned throats are one of the fields most sought after by today's eager hybridizers.  However, very few daylilies on the current market possess this unusual characteristic.  This cream-based, purple-eyed flower appears to have three jagged yellow shells delicately placed into the throat.  Accented by a nice purple picotee edge, flowers seem to jump out at you."

Payment is due in 10 days. We dig, dip, clip and ship on the same day and most plants are carefully prepared for shipping within 15 minutes of the time they come out of their pots. Shipping is $9 for the first plant and additional wins will be $3 for each single or double fan shipped in the same box (we will do our best to combine as many as we can). We rely on you to notify us when you are ready and it is safe to receive your plants. Please stay current with your purchases. We guarantee only to ship healthy plants that are true to cultivar. Most of these plants are ready to ship now and all are for spring delivery.
