BLACKBERRY BUTTERFLY is a lovely daylily and proving to be an important parent as well! The pod parent is out of the sibling to my 2021 introduction COMING AGE and is still being considered for introduction at this point. BLACKBERRY BUTTERFLY has clear violet petals which are covered by deep purple veining. The patterned, near-blue halo eye surrounds a bright green throat. The sepals display a blue-white halo eye which sets off the colors and patterns in the halo. To add some fancy to all the color and patterns, the petals and sepals are ruffled with the ruffling surrounded by a thin silver picotee . This daylily is very fertile both ways, particularly the pollen, and I have bloomed several patterned seedlings from it, now under observation. Rebloom is consistent, and the plants are very hardy.   As a garden plant, it makes a front of the bed statement, never failing to elicit positive comments from visitors. This is the last plant I have to sell of BLACKBERRY BUTTERFLY this year!
