Cougar
(Gossard, James) 2010 introduction (Sharkey's Revenge x White Fang) Tetraploid 39" Mid Late season Dormant emo fr 8.5" 6-7 way branching 28-34 buds. Fertile both ways. Rebloomer. Very good rust resistance. Northern Hardy. Flowers of Cougar are red with a darker red eye zone with sepals being a lighter,bi-tone. The throat is yellow green. Flowers are edged in teeth which vary in color from red to yellow-green. In the garden Cougar was named super branched because of its 6-7 way branching and high bud count of 34. A great parent for getting high bud count , branched , dormant, tall offspring. Again notice the pedigree of mainly dormant northern parents. While AHS lists Spindazzle and Green Fringe as semi evergreens, I have found Spindazzle to be very hard dormant and Green Fringe to be dormant, thus the high % dormant ratio. Easy pod parent, pollen very easy to use also |
