In most cases, you will find the HYBRIDIZERS NOTES below.--WE DO NOT SELL undersized PLANTS! This plant has been lined out andANY INCREASE BELONGS TO THE BUYER!
We mix our own soil, including alfalfa, bone meal, blood meal and WORM CASTINGS. We feed primarily with Miracle Grow with minors and SEAWEED CONCENTRATE. We do not force our plants. We use good old sunshine, water and nutrients. We rely heavily on organic products for insect and disease control---we have LADYBUGS, GREEN LACEWINGS AND PRAYING MANTIS on patrol for us.
You are bidding on a bloom size single fan. Note the 7 way branching and 7 inch flowers. This beauty is one of the best at producing large flowers and increasing branching in a variety of colors.
CERISE MASTERPIECE (Stamile, P) TET 2334-A [(Chartered Course x Musical Medley) X Seize The Night] 38” EMRe. Ev. 7” x 3¾” x 2½”. 7-way branching. 45 buds. Odd things happen in hybridizing sometimes. From a pink x purple cross comes a huge flat cerise red with a white edge and rose watermark. I was surprised and delighted when I first saw CERISE MASTERPIECE bloom. I knew it had to be an introduction. Even as a nine-month seedling it was almost 40” tall with candelabra branching. It was easily the tallest seedling in the cross. Folks who have been hybridizing awhile know it is rare to find a really big flower on a tall well-branched scape. It is as if the plant has only so much chlorophyll and can produce only enough energy for a few big flowers and these must be low and close to the ground so as not to tap water and nutrient uptake to the extreme. Even when you have a single cultivar with a tall and short scape from the same fan the short scape will have the large flower. I think this partly explains why dwarf miniatures are difficult to achieve in the tiny flowers and why CERISE MASTERPIECE is such a powerful parent for very large reds, purples and pinks with white edges and gold edges. Tremendous daylily with first flowers approaching 8” with 4½” petals. CERISE MASTERPIECE is sure to please. Easily fertile both ways.
