We mix our own soil, including alfalfa, bone meal, blood meal and WORM CASTINGS. We feed primarily with Miracle Grow with minors and SEAWEED CONCENTRATE. We do not force our plants. We use good old California sunshine, water and nutrients. We rely heavily on organic products for insect and disease control---we have LADYBUGS, GREEN LACEWINGS AND PRAYING MANTIS on patrol for us.

Tetraploid 38" Mid Late season Semi-Dormant emo fr 8" 3-4 way branching 15-18 buds. Fertile both ways.

Flowers of Hippopotamus are peachy pink with a green undertone, greenish yellow edge, green throat. It has a lighter watermark.

An interesting fact about hippopotamuses is that they have teeth that are brownish gray and a light pink underneath. Their teeth can be as long as 20 inches. Boy would that scare one away. Hippopotamus has been one of my best parents for producing huge toothy edged seedlings. As a direct parent it has produced my best toothy daylilies to date. A good rebloomer in the north, it is a tremendous parent and garden daylily.

Payment is due in 10 days. We dig, dip, clip and ship on the same day and most plants are carefully prepared for shipping within 15 minutes of the time they come out of the soil. Shipping is $12 for the first plant and additional wins will be $3 for each single or double fan and $5 for those with 3 or more fans shipped in the same box (we will do our best to combine as many as we can). Your largest win will be your first plant. We rely on you to notify us when you are ready and it is safe to receive your plants. Please stay current with your purchases.
