HYBRIDIZER'S DESCRIPTION: FULL IMPACT (Benz) tet 28" M. Dor. [(White Fang x Ruby Corona) X Horns] FULL IMPACT is first of a new race of reds from HORNS breeding. Offering improved color and spectacular edging, FULL IMPACT and its cousins from HORNS usher in a new era of reds and purples with huge gold braids, tentacles and teeth. The pod parent was a beautiful ruby red with white teeth from WHITE FANG, but its kids have completely surpassed it, and relegated it to obscurity. If I were to choose one word in describing FULL IMPACT, it would be GAUDY! This 5 1/2" burning red with its ornate 1/2" edge of bubbling gold shouts for attention from 100 feet away. Appears a true scarlet red from a distance, but closer inspection reveals this to be an intense shade of fiery rust red. Still…very few reds, with or without a gold border have this kind of carrying power and impact, and I have never seen any red or purple with teeth or braids that has the big blue-green DORMANT plant of FULL IMPACT. Add thick, strong beautifully branched show scapes with over 30 buds and the bar gets raised even higher. Sunfast and always perfect, and warm weather intensifies the gold edge until FULL IMPACT drips with god. Fertile both ways and pollen is so potent we were even able to set pods on Jamie Gossard's spectacular HEMAN.
