We mix our own soil, including alfalfa, bone meal, blood meal andWORM CASTINGS. We feed primarily with Miracle Grow with minors and SEAWEED CONCENTRATE. We do not force our plants to grow. We use good old California sunshine, water, nutrients andTIME (maturity). We rely heavily onorganic productsfor insect and disease control---we also have LADYBUGS, GREEN LACEWINGS AND PRAYING MANTISon patrol for us. Sib to ROYAL GYPSY, albeit different in almost every way. A 5" very heavy, plastic-like black-purple with a small deep green throat, and a fringed border consisting of tiny white sharks teeth. Scapes are very thick, and heavily branched, with bud-count over 30. Plants are much larger and more vigorous than its sib, and is also a superb breeder, producing seedlings that range from rose to black, many dripping with jagged fringe and sharks teeth, in shades of gold through snow-white. The tremendous flower substance and hard-dormant plant habit separate these from all others in their class. I'm just now seeing first kids from these crossed to some of the radical southern edges, and they are exciting.
