AUCTION IS FOR A DOUBLE FAN OF TED PETIT'S ROYAL CYPHER.
HYBRIDIZERS DESCRIPTION:
Royal Cypher (Mother Ocean x Featuring The Gold) x [Reggie Morgan x (Send Me A Rainbow x Alexa Katherine)] Sev. 6" fl. 30-34" sc. M. 30-35 buds. Royal Cypher has been my most important parent to date for fancy pattern flowers with rainbow edges. The self color is a pale cream, while the pattern eye is a violet with a burgundy mascara eye and matching inward streaks. The multi-color eye continues along the petal edges as a double picotee edge of violet and burgundy, surrounded by an ornate gold edge. A look at the parentage shows that this was an attempt to bring wide edging into my pattern lines. The highly ruffled edges can be ornate, with loops and angel wings as pictured. At the center of the flower is a cool green throat. Royal Cypher has a picture perfect, tall, beautifully branched scape, which is probably why Larry Grace considered it one of my very best breeders for fancy pattern flowers. These cold hardy plants have good rust resistance and are easily fertile both ways. Royal Cypher brings size, ornate ruffles and wide rainbow edges to pattern daylilies.
