John's Description;
EAGLE OF THE NINTH
(Benz) tet 34" M. Dor (Golden Herald X Treasure of Sierra Madre)
I've long considered TREASURE OF SIERRA MADRE to be my best deep gold flower. I never used it much as I wasn't sure how I could improve this beauty. When GOLDEN HERALD bloomed, it became the catalyst used to improve every gold I grow, and the results speak for themselves. I have several sibs to EAGLE OF THE NINTH, and some are more spectacular in both color and form, but none of them have the anywhere near the huge powerful plant possessed by this garden showpiece. EAGLE OF THE NINTH boasts grand 4-way brancing and over 25 buds on an established plant. Fertile both ways. Being a history buff, I named this after the legendary Ninth Roman Legion, one of the oldest and most feared units in the Roman army. The Ninth Legion (5000 men) disappeared completely around the year 117 A.D. after being dispatched into Scotland to quell a Pict uprising. This remains one of history's mysteries............$150.00
