This patterned daylily like most is highly variable but always presents some kind of “exploding eye” pattern. To me it always looks as if the exotic blend of purple and charcoal eye seems to explode off the surface of the cream yellow flower. In fact, I thought of naming it “Explosive Power” till Grace gave me the name “Shake It Up”.
Tet Cosmic Kaleidoscope and Tet Texas Kaleidoscope have been frustrating to work with. In Florida both opened beautifully but here in California even the diploids would not open. Still persistence pays off. This and the seedlings that are coming from it are ushering a new generation of easy openers. Exciting and wonderful! Fertile both ways.
