Helen Virginia Wheeler, named for a daylily lover in Mississippi, is an enormous leap in our near-black breeding program. The black red to purple flowers are large and tall, with very wide petals outlined in a very wide white sharks tooth edge, which gets huge as the weather warms. The flowers also have a green throat that is surrounded by a subtle lighter watermark. A real breakthrough, and a an unbelievable parent... all of our best edged flowers from the last two years have come from this flower.
