You are bidding on a double fan of RED HEARTTHROB (Petit 13). This flower wouold not stop blooming. It produced flowers from the beginning of bloom season in mid-May until late July. I think it stopped because we put so many pods on it...it's quite fertile too. I put everything on it in our red breeding program this year and I think it took every time. And it increased like nuts too. The picture from Petit's website is 100% representative of the flowers here. Here is what Petit had to say on his website:

We have had some unbelievably intense reds in our program over the last years. RED HEARTTHROB is one of the most intensely colored reds I have ever seen, looking like deep red velvet dress. When daylily aficionado, Francois Verhaert from Europe, visited the garden and saw it, he stopped, turned and looked at us, shook his head, and without speaking, mouthed the word, "Gorgeous." Lanny Morry, from Canada, visiting at the same time, had to agree. It is accented by a lighter red watermark surrounding a green heart. The ruffled flower petals are edged in white. One of the most intensely saturated reds I have introduced.

Please note that we have had RUST in the past including a small outbreak in late 2017. Winter weather has consistently done away with it in our garden without spraying. We strive to use organic practices whenever possible so we have chosen not to spray for rust. We never ship rusty plants and will gladly refund your purchase if you are at all dissatisfied.
