Even though the daylilies are not in bloom, Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The weather here in the Carolinas is usually pleasant in the Fall with gradually cooling temperatures, and lots of sun. In a few weeks my wife and I will be going to Asheville, a beautiful town in the mountains. It will be color change time, so the world will be full of color. Swaths of Red, Green, Yellow, and brown in a myriad of shades will blanket the Earth. It's the last taste of brilliant color en masse until the daylilies bloom next year. If you like Fall, come to the mountains of North Carolina. A finer display of color you would be hard to find elsewhere. Then go home and plant daylily seeds to make a color display in your garden for the years to come.

    The pictures are of the plants used in the first cross listed in the Special--pod parent first, then pollen parent. I try to use as many pictures as possible of the different cultivars in my listings. You will have to do some homework using the American Hemerocallis Society Database, and the All Things Plants Daylily Database run by The National Gardening Association (easy to find with Google) to research the crosses to see if they meet your needs. It will be well worth your effort.
