Black daylilies wax and wane in popularity even though they are an important addition to the floral landscape. They are a critical element for Contrast in the colorscape. They pair well with any color and make colors such as yellow, red and orange really pop! In the past few years (maybe a sign of the times) they have gained a resurgence of interest. It would be an interesting effect to make a bed of daylilies with alternating white and black flowers with a front border of red ones. Honestly though, I hope that gardening tastes do not go to that extreme. I prefer a rainbow of different colors effect. That begs one to inspect each variety individually so that you come to fully appreciate all flowers. And so, without further philosophizing, here are my black dayliliy seeds for this year:
