Pod parent: MVMLS-47 (unregistered) M 24” DOR 5˝” purple with waves of missing color pattern, a terminal W with 2 laterals and an average of 27 buds. While this won’t be registered unless it gets taller in its third year in the selected bed, the consistency of pattern through a wider range of temperatures than either of its parents portends interesting things for patterned crosses. (MAUDE’S VALENTINE X MILITARY SCHOOL).
Pollen parent: DS228MPADDBCS-6 (unregistered) just moved to the selected bed in August, 2013, this seedling produced two 28” scapes with one lateral, 10 buds on one, 16 on the other. Blooms are 6˝” across, creamy yellow with a broken purple eye most often showing 2 missing color chevrons and only one when the weather gets hotter. Has measured 3.75-4:1 and I’m of course hoping that it settles towards the skinnier. I would have never guessed that adding BANSHEE CRADLESONG to the dark eyed seedling that never hinted at patterns would produce patterns, but there were 2 others in the cross with similar faces. Midseason DOR. I won’t be sharing many seeds from this kid as patterned spiders has been my number one goal for over 10 years. The seeds have been air dried for 1-3 days before being refrigerated. Please store them in your fridge until ready to plant.
