This dormant sib to OVER THE MOUNTAIN was widely admired in the garden. Beautiful clear orchid flowers with plum violet eye and edge and deep grass green throat mark this cultivar. It is this combination of flower size, color clarity and bud count and branching that makes this cultivar very special.
MOUNTAIN WILDFLOWER is a great breeder for eyed and bordered flowers in a variety of colors. We have gotten some of our best bordered flowers from MOUNTAIN WILDFLOWER. Very fine and very pretty. Fertile both ways

Sometimes a cross goes exactly as planned and this is one of those charmed crosses. I'm not sure what I expected when making this cross but to say VALENTINE CHARM exceeded my expectations is an understatement. This big stunning rose-pink with a its brilliant red band and intense green throat is, in a word-Spectacular. This glowing bloom shines across the garden like a beacon, and is the top pick of most visitors of every eyed daylily I grow. I truly love its half sib, CARNIVAL DREAM, but VALENTINE CHARM is a taller, better branched, heavier and more ruffled bloom and boasts a bold red picotee border. Color is a saturated deep rose pink with an intense lacquered red band that surrounds a vivid lime green throat. A heavily ruffled red picotee border matches the eyezone and further embellishes this stunning bloom. For ruffling, substance, color and sheer showstopping beauty, VALENTINE CHARM surpasses any eyed daylily I've seen thus far, and is hard dormant-a huge plus. Very heavy substance on this heavily ruffled 6" bloom, and yet always flat and always perfect regardless of cold nights. Foliage is large and arching, with tall strong scapes and 3-4 beautifully space branching, and a bud-count as high as 30.
