POD: ROSELLA FLIGHT Mahieu '03, 5”, 36”, DOR, DIP, Extra Early. Rebloom. [NINA REBMEN X JENNIE LOVE] 3 X 24 or better branching and budcount. A rosella is a type of Australian parrot. A combination of Kraus' azalea pink NINA REBMEN with Stout's early H. f. rosea introduction JENNIE LOVE, this cultivar was, specifically, developed to have rhizomatous growth like H f Europa, but in a gorgeous rose pink with a green throat and great hybrid vigor and gardenability. The color is a clear rose pink with a deep rose pink band on the petals. Green to lemon chartreuse, dart throat pattern. Radically Fertile both ways. Excellent, weatherproof substance, rhizomatous growth habit for naturalizing meadows, banks, streamside plantings, mixed perennial borders.

Pollen:HOODED COBRA Mahieu / Burris '07, 5.5”, 28”, DOR, DIP, Ear-mid .Instant rebloom. 60% 4X4 POLYTEPAL, PINCHED CRISPATE UFO, irridescent brown with black eye and gold to green throat. Brown daylilies are a combination of fulvous orange pigments with purple and blue pigments (actually I think that just about every daylily pigment is in there). The purples (anthocyanin- based hues) have a tendency to be temperature sensitive, and if they are, the purple of a brown bloom may fade leaving a more brownish hue. Fertile both ways. [{seedling x (SERPENT’S TOOTH x SATYR)}X seedling ] seedlings are: reuther's brown spider and probably 'Satchmo' and 'Brown Recluse'. This line of breeding is replete with polytepal genes from at least 3 of the parents. Vigorous grower with genetically small fans.
