EMERALD BAY is a beautiful lavender rose pink blend with a large green watermarked eye and green edge. Blooms are wide, round and overlapped with slight recurve. Beautiful deep green arching foliage marks this cultivar. Arching foliage is becoming a premium as some of the fanciest daylilies seem to want to have coarse upright foliage.

EMERALD BAY has nice spacing of the branching and outstanding plant habits. The edge on rebloom can be 3 times the edge shown on this early bloom and the flowers go toward a more lavender pink and the edge becomes greener.
A wonderful daylily and easily fertile both ways.

I measure substance of a bloom by how heavy it feels in my hand. Ruth Theresa is one heavy bloom. It's thick rubbery petals start the season off at about 7 inches across then settle in at about 6.75 inches. It's heavy, fat ruffles do it all; loops, owl ears....and yet it opens perfectly. A pure pink with no muddiness, this is a power house for any breeder looking to increase bloom size and color clarity. Blooms are displayed nicely on scapes that range 28 to 30 inches with 3 to 4 way branching. A real show stopper.

Seeds were air dried for 48 hours and have been refrigerated for at least 3 weeks
