This is another very late seedling. In fact in my notes I have the words "True Very Late" scribbled beside its number. I also have noted that the branching was pretty. Again--I have no record of the parentage. It is a big bloom with a good clean green throat, so I decided to try crossing it with CAKE PLATE. CAKE PLATE is an unregistered Goldner cultivar--with a wonderful dramatic appearance. The plant is medium height--36 inches or so, with nice branching and a good budcount. Blooms are large (about 6 inches) and nicely round. The habit of CAKE PLATE seems to be a bit sturdier than some of my other Goldners--just a more substantive look. My experience with it's babies indicates that it produces large flower, and when crossed with UF's it will yeild to the more unusual flower shape. Eyezones are common and habits are strong and sturdy. I would expect a late to very late result from this cross, and my hope is that the green throat in the baby would presage good clear colors. I suspect you would get warm tones here--I have seen CAKE PLATE produce some very pretty reds. Sales are to USA only, payment is by check or money order.
