Like yellow? I think you can count on it from this cross. FLOURISH is one of Bob Sobeck's best IMHO--at least in my yard it is. Late, tall, with flawless scapes that carry lots of buds that open perfectly every day, it never fails to give me pause. The bloom color is a clean citron, and there are soft, disciplined ruffles.
CRACKIN UP is kind of new--my friend, Paul, gave it to me and in a frenzy of my usual unorganized planting, I stuck it in a pasture row near the back and forgot I had it. This year as I was surveying the blooms in my evaluation beds this madly blooming tall yellow caught my eye. The number of blooms open on it was really remarkable and I high tailed it across the pasture to get a closer look. There it was, with its labeled pipe--CRACKIN UP. I can only guess that the previous years' family problems kept me occupied enough that I never spotted it.
So the pollen made the rounds--and my very first thought was to take it to FLOURISH in hopes of producing something excellent and new for the late garden.
