CABBAGE BUTTERFLY is an unregistered cultivar from Al Goldner. It is late, about 30" tall with huge flowers. The scapes are top branched with moderate budcounts. It is strong in my zone 5 garden, but not a rapid spreader. The blooms are amazing--very exotic and large. I could love this cultivar on its appearance alone, but it has the added bonus of producing really nice babies. I have a large section of late and very late keepers in my evaluation rows with CB as a pollen parent. They come in a wide array of colors, always about 30 inches tall, with wonderful branching and budcounts. While the petal shape is never as exaggerated as CB's, there is almost always some kind of eyezone. Many of the babies are softly ruffled. I have been trying to make this cross for a couple years and finally managed to make it happen. I would expect late or very late blooming in a 30-34" plant in a variety of pinks and possibly rosy purples. I would also expect to see nice branching and good budcounts.
