Cardinal's Cloak(Petit, 2011)

[(Believe in Miracles x Written on the Wind) x (Triple Cherries)] (Hidden Depths). Sev. 6.5" fl. 30" sc. M 20 buds. Fertile both ways. Excellent rust resistance. The flowers of Cardinal's Cloak are both very large and very dramatic. They are the result of combining my red eye and edge lines with my very wide, heavy gold edge lines. The result is a flower of amazing impact. The self color is a light cherry rose. The flowers have a large dark cherry red eye and matching picotee. The picotee is very wide and is painted on top of deep piecrust ruffling that reaches almost to the midrib. The outside of the petals is surrounded by a heavy gold edge. At the center of the flower is a dark green throat. The seedlings from Cardinal's Cloak, like the flower itself, are nothing short of astounding. My most important eyed and edged flower yet. All crosses have been made in my garden and are from the 2015 crop. Seeds are all from true to name daylilies. Pictures were taken in my garden unless otherwise noted. Seeds have been dried 3 days and kept in the refrigerator for more than 3 weeks .Ready to plant or to keep over-winter in the fridge for spring-planting . I give bonus seedsof my choosing with each shipment and sometimes they will be the same seeds as the win.
