AUCTION IS FOR FIVE SEEDS FROM THE CROSS OF SARAH'S ROSE QUARTZ X PRINCESS PEYTON.
POD PARENT:
SARAH'S ROSE QUARTZ
(Benz) tet 30" M. Dor. (Nancy Thomas X Frilly Rose Glow)
This magnificent 5" cranberry rose was my immediate pick of all the sibs in this cross. The overall quality in this cross was so high, that I kept two out of three for a second look…but there was only one SARAH'S ROSE QUARTZ. Among the sibs were all shades of pink and rose, many elaborately ruffled and a couple even sported lacy chartreuse green edges. But SARAH'S ROSE QUARTZ stood alone by virtue of her oversquare form, saturated cranberry rose color and extremely heavy substance, rivaled only by a few of the best pinks from Tet. LINDA AGIN. Foliage is large and arching and deep blue green as blue as the leaves of a "blue" hosta. I've seen this color in daylily foliage quite often, and seek it out as I believe the blue color is a precursor to anti-freeze and overall resistance to foliage disease of every kind, including rust and crown rot. The drawback to the really blue foliage in tetraploid daylilies is the fact that is almost always seen on small foliage line bred dormants like the introductions of Bro Charles. This deep rose daylily has this wonderful blue foliage on a large robust plant and the contrast between the dark blue and deep rose is striking. I've never seen anything in a rose or pink this deep in color, or with petals this wide, or substance this heavy, and it is always as flat as a frisbee by dawn. Scapes are very strong, with 2-3 laterals and a terminal carrying a total of 20 buds. Very fragrant and fertile both ways. Needless to say, it has been crossed almost exclusively with reds and purples, and I have already selected a deep ruby red with this same form for future introduction.......$200.00

My first and only pure lavender introduction from Tetra Emerald Starburst. A hybridizers must for big edges, watermarks, and green. Often blooms better than the photo, quick to increase with a Great Scape! Has proved an outstanding parent. Good Diamond Dusting. Easily fertile both ways.
