These are my final seed offerings for the season. Thank you, everyone! May your gardens be filled with new friendships and flowers this coming summer.
Pod parent: MVMLS-47 (unregistered) M 25” DOR 5˝” purple with waves of missing color pattern, a terminal W with 2 laterals and an average of 27 buds. While this seedling will live out the rest of its life here as a bridge plant because it is short and (horrors!) fat, the consistency of pattern through a wider range of temperatures than either of its parents portends interesting things for patterned crosses. In fact, of the 39 diploid seedlings I selected in 2016, 7 had this seedling as their pod parent. (MAUDE’S VALENTINE X MILITARY SCHOOL).
Pollen parent: TTBIG –17 (unregistered) 32” M SEV on the DOR side 7˝ - 8” apricot cream with multiple rippled purple eye. This was the holy moly moment of the 2015 seedling season here. First bloomed in 2015 with only 6 buds, but each bloom had 4-6 purple waves! Quickly moved to the selected bed where it proved itself to be a most worthy plant that held its pattern, albeit with fewer ripples(but the genetics are there), throughout the extreme heat and drought of 2016. Relatively late, beginning its season on July 24, it had obviously been working on its scape because it had one lateral under a TW with 27 buds. 27 buds! It even rebloomed, and it’s fragrant, too! (TOOKY TOOKY BIRD X INSTANT GRAFFITI).
Goals: Patterns in a wide range of temperatures and decent bud counts.
The seeds have been air dried for 1-3 days before being refrigerated. Please store them in your fridge until ready to plant.
Due to the prolonged extreme drought and record heat this year, there will be significantly fewer offerings. Bonus seeds for prompt contact and payment will usually consist of additional seeds of the same cross.
DOMESTIC: Unless prior arrangements have been made, payment is expected within 10 days of the close of this auction. Please include $3.00 postage for up to 10 crosses. New York state residents, please add 8% sales tax. Check, money order and PayPal are accepted.
INTERNATIONAL: Shipping only to countries that do not require phytosanitary inspections. It is the bidder’s responsibility to obtain any import permits their country requires. Regrettably, I can't replace seeds shipped internationally that are lost in the mail. PayPal or checks drawn on US accounts are accepted. Please note: you must be a certified daylily fanatic to accept the following postage costs:
To Canada: $9.00.
Other countries: $13.00
MANY THANKS FOR LOOKING!
