AUCTION IS FOR FIVE SEEDS FROM THE CROSS OF PINNACLE PINK X PRINCESS PEYTON.
POD PARENT:
PINNACLE PINK
(Benz) tet 24" M. Sev. -Ev. (Janet Benz X Tet. Linda Agin)
PINNACLE PINK is the culmination of nearly 30 years of hybridizing with one single-minded goal‹perfectly round symmetrical form with lavish ruffling and refinement. LINDA AGIN was Tom Wilson's crowning achievement and in hybridizing, the converted tetraploid can improve every aspect of nearly anything with which it is crossed. In PINNACLE PINK, Tet. LINDA AGIN has expanded the dimensions of JANET BENZ to the unbelievable. 5 1/4" blooms boast petals over 4 inches in diameter and 2" sepals as well. These oversquare blooms are simply engulfed in huge undulating flutes and ruffles, and substance is the heaviest I have encountered in any pink daylily tet or dip‹bar none. A flower of which I could scarcely conceive in 1980 and I am still in awe when I walk out in the garden in the early morning and see blooms this wide and heavy and with such lavish ruffling open. PERFECTLY flat by 6.a.m PINNACLE PINK is reminiscent of parent JANET BENZ, but improved on every point. Color is a cleaner smoother shade of pink with a larger and more intense green throat. Much smoother texture and most veining and all traces of the halo are gone. Plants are huge and incredibly vigorous with strong thick scapes and 2-3 way branching with about 20 buds. Wonderfully fragrant and fertile both ways. Proving a tremendous parent for heavily ruffled pink, rose and even reds and deep purples. My personal favorite pink introduction and I am still using it both ways. Re-blooms. $250.00
POLLEN PARENT:
*PRINCESS PEYTON (Pierce G.) 1241-B Sdlg (Across the Border x Tet Emerald Starburst) x Sdlg (Cutting Loose x Barefoot Bay) Tet SEV EM Re 30”, 6.5” flower, 7 way branching, 40-45 buds, Fragrant.
My first and only pure lavender introduction from Tetra Emerald Starburst. A hybridizers must for big edges, watermarks, and green. Often blooms better than the photo, quick to increase with a Great Scape! Has proved an outstanding parent. Good Diamond Dusting. Easily fertile both ways.
