Pod parent: STARLIGHT SPLASH (Reed 2012) EM 28" DOR this 7" pink with patterned eyezone gives the impression of being much larger. A cold dominant pattern but one that maintains here in all but the hottest weather. I've had this daylily since 2008 (visitors know it as "Margo's Patterned Seedling") and have seen some remarkable seedlings from it. Passes pattern, size and can pick up unusual forms. In fact, the first bloom I ever saw of STARLIGHT SPLASH in my garden had perfect, tightly quilled sepals. Sure wish I'd gotten a photo of that! Sports one lateral and only 15 buds but with the amount of scapes it produces, there wouldn't be room for more. A very important break for patterned Unusual Forms. ("Snook's Light Eyed Seedling" X CRYSTALLINE ENTITY).
Pollen parent: WIZWKTM3-12 (unregistered) first bloomed in 2017 on 28” scapes, this 11” very skinny (might be spider) lavender pink has a bluish lavender eyezone broken with quite distinct white chevrons. Only 9 buds, but you can rarely tell how the scapes will perform based on first bloom. Seemed like a good pollen to use toward breeding patterned true spiders. {WIZARD DELUXE X [(WILSON SPIDER x KINDLY LIGHT) x TOMORROW'S SONG) X MILITARY SCHOOL}.
Goals: An effort to wring a true Spider, with a patterned eye, of course, from STARLIGHT SPLASH.
