Auction is for 5 seeds from the cross of WAVES OF JOY X TWILIGHT WOODS.
POD PARENT:
WAVES OF JOY (Dan Trimmer) Tetraploid (Dragonfly Dawn x Tetra Texas Kaleidscope) 37" E. Re. Ev. 7 1/4" Some times you just get lucky! From a cross of only two seedlings I bloomed the best patterned daylily I have seen to date. Waves of Joy is early, tall (37",) large (7 1/4",) 26 buds, easily pod fertile, and perhaps the finest parent I have ever used. Seedling after seedling was selected last summer. "Waves" is lavender blend with a lavender violet, and blue violet patterned eye oftentimes with white waves. The name comes from the lyrics from the Beatles song "Across the Universe" referring to a life well lived having "pools of sorrow" and "waves of joy." There is much joy in my life! A hybridizer friend said there were patterned daylilies before Waves of Joy and then there will be those after Waves Of Joy. Exceedingly limited.

Tetraploid 28" Early Midseason Evergreen emo fr 6" 3-4 way branching 18-22 buds. Fertile both ways. Rebloomer. Very good rust resistance. Northern Hardy.
Flowers are purple with multiply patterned bands A very intense green throat with a blue- purple eye zone. It radiates into multiple colors of brown, blue, purple and white, carried on both the petals and sepals.
This dark, romantic beauty just makes you think of long walks in the woods, her dark purple petals and sepals the shadows, the green and brown of her throat the leaves, and the white pattern she exudes the light filtering through the trees. She will mesmerize you with her luscious saturated color and beautiful form. A hardy evergreen, she will open Early to midseason and continue to put on a show through her rebloom. Though her name suggests the end of the day, she opens early morning and stays fresh until twilight. Cross her with my 2013 Rainbow butterfly for some gorgeous dormant purple patterned kids, or take her to my 2015 Dark Magician Girl to bring the twilight even darker to Night.
