Pod parent: COUNTERWISE WINE (Michaels 2014 registered in 2013) L (might be considered VL) 45" DOR 7" (9˝" wingspan) saturated burgundy 4.18:1 Spider with a bit of ruffling and cream midribs over a yellow to green throat. Thick, strong scapes hold 1-2 laterals and 20+ buds. Opens earlier in cold weather than its dad, and, unlike daddy, it's quite pod fertile. And wow, is it kinky! Most blooms will display a tooth/protrusion/flap/little wing/whatever on at least one petal near the throat. Sometimes every petal has a growth, usually just tooth-shaped, on both sides. Sometimes the growth can be a ˝" long "finger." This is a trait occasionally manifested in its mom, NINA NINA WOLVERINA, but the size and frequency of the growths are far greater in her kid. Despite being lined out in the spring of 2013, it bloomed later than it’s well-established dad in 2014 and again in 2015. The name comes from the Terry Pratchett's Disc World's time reversed alcohol. Hangovers occur before you drink counterwise wine as "hangunders" and are often so bad that you drink larger amounts just to get rid of them. Counterwise wine is made from reannual plants that grow and flower before they have germinated, essentially growing backwards. (NINA NINA WOLVERINA X MASCARA SNAKE).
Pollen parent: DS270C1BLC3RD-1 (unregistered) 36” M DOR 16” wingspan (when it bloomed during the extreme drought of 2016, it was just ˝” smaller but with the record amount of rain in 2017, it was back to 16”). Curling pink 6.8:1—7:1 Spider with large, deeper halo over a yellow to green throat. Very strong scapes held to high laterals under a terminal Y and 25 buds. Still only 2 fans but both bloomed. May be a future intro but, until then, its pollen is going on just about everything. {[(Dallas Star seedling that was a sibling to LIQUID MEMORY x ORCHID CORSAGE) x BANSHEE LOVE CALL] X THIRD ACT}.
