Last year I received many comments regarding the beauty and fertility of JANE'S PINK AND BLUE and I thought how pleased everyone would be with NEPTUNE'S DAUGHTER! Tall at 39” with a 71/2 “ flower NEPTUNE'S DAUGHTER is another extra early season starter, and was also extremely pod fertile. Multiple bands of purple silver, and violet are highlighted by the contrasting chartreuse green throat and is an enchanting color that is hard to capture by camera. POLLEN PARENT HYBRIDIZER'S DESCRIPTION:
Impact Zone
(Gossard, James) 2018 introduction
(Get Jiggy) x (Butterfly Ripples x tetra Pattern Maker)
Seedling number G-985
Tetraploid 34" Late season Dormant emo fr 5.5" 3-4 way branching 18-24 buds. Fertile both ways. Rebloomer. Very good rust resistance. USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 4-10.
Impact Zone is hands down my FINEST pattern introduction to date. It has taken YEARS just to obtain the parents to create this magnificent daylily. I first bloomed Pattern Maker, a diploid, selected it as a seedling, grew it out and decided it was worthy of introduction, THEN selected it from my introductions as being worthy to convert to a tetraploid. After a couple of years waiting and successfully converting it, I crossed it with my butterfly ripples and selected the best 4 seedlings from that cross for future introduction. One of those seedlings served as the pollen parent for Impact Zone. The Genetics alone are worth thousands of dollars. Impact zone is UNEQUALED in clean background, consistent broken patterning, and a uniquely tricolored eye with a starburst pattern in the eye. This flower is a hard dormant- hardy and vigorous even as far north as Wisconsin where it has been tested in their harsh winters. I have AMAZING futures coming from this line. This is my most highly recommended daylily this year. One I have worked Years to achieve. This one is a midseason standout, 4 way branching and 22 buds, reblooms on a Fantastic plant.......$200 SF, $375 DF SOLD OUT.
