KATISUE HERRINGTON
(Herrington-H, 2013)
8 x 22 M Re D Unusual Form Crispate. Many of you may know this, but for those of you who may not, my late mother grew daylilies for almost 30 years and hybridized many beautiful cultivars. Thus, I wanted to hybridize a daylily that would honor and exemplify her qualities. If she had been a flower, she would have been this one. Her qualities of supporting AHS and being energetic, hard-working, beautiful, vibrant, and successful are mirrored in this daylily. It is a fuchsia orchid rose blend with darker veins on the petals with intense neon lime green throat outlined with a creamy white edge. It has up to 40 buds with 6-way candelabra branching that often branches even down to the bottom of the plant. It has a non-paralleled vigor and grows quite fast, just as my mother was always energetic and accomplished.'Katisue Herrington'has proven to be a great garden plant as well as an excellent show flower. In 2013, it won an Achievement Medal in the Middle Georgia show. Since I had to go ahead and register it after it won the Achievement Medal, I entered it in 2014 in the Ogeechee Daylily show and it won Best Unusual Form. In 2015 it won Best In Show in the Dublin Show. It is very prolific, resulting in a mass of blooms in a clump in about a one-year time period. I feel it is abreakthroughin daylilies, as it has all the qualities of distinction, bud count, branching, growth habits, exhibition show value, and garden value. One of the first customers to get this flower sent me this note with a picture he took of it:"Here's a bloom on 'Katisue Herrington' and she is exactly as you described......just incredible!"

TEXAS FEATHERED FANCY
CARPENTER 2006
(20”-5.25”-MRe-DOR) – LAVENDER BLUE BABY X Unknown – This was the first seedling to bloom from LAVENDER BLUE BABY having that special new characteristic which we call feathering in the throat. It later appeared in some Tet LBB kids. In any case this cultivar has been in tremendous demand for some time and there are many reserves on it for that reason. It is unique having the very thick and hardened “feathers” in the throat area of the petals. Fertile both ways.
