These are my final auction listings for the season and I wish to sincerely thank everyone for your support!
Pod parent: SCDDBLCTFMPS-1 (unregistered) 35” M re DOR this 6” A 2020 introduction is planned for this narrowish creamy apricot with a large purple eye that almost always displays at least one missing color chevron. While it tends to respond to severe drought by “canoeing,” the pattern is still displayed. Two laterals and a terminal Y exhibit an average of 25 buds. {(SILOAM CINDERELLA x DRAGON DREAMS) x (BANSHEE LOVE CALL x TENNESSEE FLYCATCHER)] X STARLIGHT SPLASH}.
Pollen parent: TOOKY TOOKY BIRD (Michaels 2014 introduction registered in 2013) Mre 32" SEV 6½" peach and salmon (peach and fawn after several hot days in a row) blend with rose lavender eye widely edged with red violet over a yellow to green throat. The pattern is mimicked a bit on the sepals and the petals display pale midrib darts. TOOKY TOOKY BIRD has so far proven to be my best parent for producing patterned seedlings. An early morning opener after 50º nights. The frequently quilled sepals increase the interest for me, of course. Two laterals on stout scapes with 18 buds each. Reblooms even in drought conditions and makes average diploid sized fans. Fertile both ways, it can pass both missing color pattern and wide color bands, and it produces kids that run the full gamut of forms from bagel through UF to Spider. “Tooky Tooky” is what George of the Jungle called his toucan friend. Seedling DCWCSTHGDD-24, the parentage is {[Dallas Star seedling 2-12 x (Chin Whiskers x Little Witching Hour seedling 1) seedling 6] X [Cerulean Star x (Heavenly Gift x Dragon Dreams seedling 5) seedling 1]}.
Goals: TOOKY TOOKY BIRD seems to give patterns that are protected from temperature variations, so here we’re looking for wider blooms that display patterns regardless of temperature.
