Spacecoast Fire Dragon has been nicknamed "Red #1" in the garden because, since its first bloom, it has been the favorite red in the garden. This flower is INSTANTLY recognizable in the garden. There is red and then there is RED. This flower just punches you in the face with its blazing intensity and fire. Background genetics carry Tet. Rose F. Kennedy from its pollen parent, Spacecoast Rose Queen, another recent introduction. This brings new genetics into the round reds/edges category. It is very pod and pollen fertile, and its kids tend to be much larger. It is a Fantastic parent, and many future introductions will come from this fantastic red
MY FAVORITE MARTIAN Pierce G. 6128-B ((Hanna’s Electric Orange x Applique Prism) x Green Volcano) DOR EE RE EXTRA EMO, 32” high, 7.75” flower, 4-way branching, 25 buds, Very Fragrant, Ever-bloomer, 100% diamond dusted, often does 4 x 4 and cristate on midribs. Fertile both ways, throws Cristate kids, 7” Green Throat!
Talk about genetics “Jumping the fence” with both Tet Timestopper and Tet Rose F. Kennedy, THE MARTIAN was the only ORANGE to bloom. In fact, I have been trying for some 8 years to get an ORANGE with that TRFK green throat with all the norms but to no avail. Then suddenly - Boom! there he is. Yes, a daylily in alien coloration!!! The CELERY thick green is everywhere and is completely DIAMOND DUSTED. Surrounded in bright orange, you could be in your own south sea’s sunset right at home.
All crosses have been made in my garden and are from the 2021 crop. Seeds are all from true to name registered daylilies. Seeds have been dried 2 days and kept in the refrigerator, ready to plant. I give bonus seeds of my choosing with each shipment.
