Sdlg 20-O15-5 x Last of the Wine - 5 seeds
Sdlg 20-O15-5: (Bently Samuel x Unnamed Soldier). Fertile both ways. First year to bloom. Unfortunately I lost some of my photos and this horrible one is all I have to show. First year to bloom and there was bearding on one or more petals on all blooms... 4.5" in diameter. Great color saturation.
height 31 inches (79 cm), bloom 5.5 inches (14 cm), season EM, Rebloom, Dormant, Diploid, Fragrant, 24 buds, 4 branches, Unusual Form Crispate, Pink self with barbed appendages, fertile both ways. (Michael's Sword × sdlg)
Last of the Wine - This seedling is currently unregistered but will be introduced next year by me. Preliminary stats are 12 buds, 3-way branching, 24" tall, 4.5" blooms. Easily fertile both ways. It takes 2 full days for the bloom to open and during this time it changed from a red Merlot color to a Rosé pink... LOL. This garden name has been formally reserved but I reserve the right to change it when I formally register this beauty.
General Information
Special Crosses This Year: This year I will be offering many seeds involving crosses from my own toothy and bearded select seedlings. This was a tremendous amount of work because young seedlings set few pods which means many more crosses fail. The reason I did this is because I would really like to leap frog to the next level. By selecting the best of the best seedlings from premium named crosses I am hoping for larger blooms, better branching, bolder colors, more teeth especially on sepals, exquisite bearding, etc. I was going to plant all of these seedling crosses but decided that I would offer seeds from such crosses as well.
Photos: I apologize if my photos do not reflect the true beauty of the parents in this cross. In most cases I am using my own photos from my garden. This way you know I have the plants and that they have bloomed for me. I encourage people to search the Internet for hybridizer photos as well to see blooms at their very best.
Fresh Seeds: All seeds are from 2022 and were grown by me in my Newaygo, MI garden which is zone 5. Seeds are dried for 2+ days and then refrigerated. Depending on the genetics some seeds are round and shiny others are wrinkled like raisins (especially toothy and highly ruffled Tetraploids in my experience)
General Background: I promised myself I would not plant more than 7,500 seeds. As a result, I am offering a portion of many of my crosses for those interested... even seeds from crosses that the hoarding dragon in me resisted selling! LOL
Payment: This is a hobby for me and not a business. As such, I am only shipping within the United States ($4) and Canada ($12). Shipping fees are per shipment regardless of how many packets are included. I accept Paypal, Venmo, CHECK and MONEY ORDERS. Payment must clear prior to shipping.
MORE FINE PRINT:
Seed shape and size and degree of shrivelling varies greatly from variety to variety. Please do not be alarmed if some seeds are small and some look like little dried raisins.
Seed germination is a complicated matter and depends on many many factors that are outside of my control. As such, I cannot guarantee germination rates. However, if you get zero germination on any cross please let me know and we will work something out in the way of a credit, refund or other arrangement.
Sorry, I do not ship anywhere that a phyto-certificate is required for seeds. I just do not have the time or energy for that this fall. It is your sole responsibility to know and obey the laws for importing daylily seeds to your shipping address. I take no responsibility for losses and delays resulting from import regulations.
Also, I cannot be responsible for lost or destroyed packages. Because of this, if you would like the shipments to be insured, and are willing to pay those extra fees, please let me know.
GOOD LUCK!
