height 30in (76cm), bloom 7in (18.0cm), season E, Rebloom, Evergreen, Tetraploid, 26 buds, 4 branches, Medium amethyst with midnight purple eye and purple outlined yellow gold edge above yellow to green throat.((Moon Feather × Martina Verhaert) × Scott Bennett)

The color is medium orchid with a half-inch wide purple border, and lilac splashed filigree. This purple edge (flecked with shades of lilac) is encircled with yellow gold filigree and elaborately embellished with talons and sparkles of diamond and amethyst. The eye shows phenomenal color saturation in imperial purple, above the yellow to green throat. The EMO form is full, quite flat, overlapped, and widespread. Many cross tags will read GSTQ, because H. 'God Save The Queen' is a very fertile parent both ways. Its kids easily display embellished double and triple edges. The strongly recurrent scapes are branched 3-4 ways, with 26 or more buds.

ABOUT BITTERSWEET FARM: Our ten acres of woods, ravines, and garden beds is located outside of Granville, Ohio. In this part of Ohio (zone 6A), we grow in clay soil amended with lots of manure, peat, compost, etc. Temperatures can drop to -20, so the daylilies I sell must be hardy enough to survive our winters. Rust does not overwinter here, and I’ve never seen it in the garden. I start seeds from my own crosses each year in our small greenhouse, and everything else is grown outside -- all of our named cultivars, as well as our seedlings, are field grown, hardy, and beautiful.
