HYBRIDIZER'S DESCRIPTION: Velvet Throne $300 (Ruby Pearl Sullivan) (Electric Red x Prince John). Sev. 6.5" fl. 31" sc. M 30- 35 buds. Velvet Throne is a full sibling to Scarlet Angel. The flowers of Velvet Throne are a very dark velvety blood red. The color is remarkably saturated. The flowers have a lighter watermark and a green throat. The heavily ruffled petals are edged in gold. The flowers are easily fertile both ways, and the plants are cold hardy and have very good rust resistance. The tall, beautifully branched scapes have four laterals plus top branching. Along with Scarlet Angel, these two flowers moved our red breeding program into a whole new dimension, with large, clear, deeply saturated, velvety reds. An enormous break in red breeding, anxiously awaited by many hybridizers and a must for any red breeding program. You are bidding on 2 blooming size fan to be shipped when pods are harvested .
