We anticipate listing plants at least through April. We have some line outs and we are breaking up some clumps. Our plants look very good and we are quite proud of our listings!! WE DO NOT SELL undersized PLANTS! We describe the plants as they are now, not as we hope they will be at shipping time..
We mix our own soil, including alfalfa, bone meal, blood meal and WORM CASTINGS. We feed primarily with Miracle Grow with minors and SEAWEED CONCENTRATE. We do not force our plants to grow. We use good old California sunshine, water, nutrients and TIME (maturity). We rely heavily on organic products for insect and disease control---we also have LADYBUGS, GREEN LACEWINGS AND PRAYING MANTIS on patrol for us. In most cases, you will find the HYBRIDIZERS NOTES below.---Thanks for looking!!
You are bidding on a LARGE single fan of the very popular William Colby Jones.
This one is what a daylily should be! Beautiful flower, long bloom season, sets pods in full sun, good pollen!
William Colby Jones (Ridder) height 29", bloom 6.5", season E, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Tetraploid, Fragrant, 28 buds, 3 branches, White cream with a black purple eye and edge with narrow white picotee. (Tal of Gascone × Crazy Ivan) this has been one of the most popular lilies in our garden. It is fast to increase, always is striking and beautiful. Opens well, the Ridders purchased it on the auction and ask permission to name it after their grandson. We are pleased they did.
William Colby Jones (Gaskins/Ridder)
(Tal of Gascone X Crazy Ivan) (Gaskins Seedling) 6.5" white-cream bloom with a black-purple eye and edge. The edge telescopes from a rich purple to a black-purple to a white picotee and then again to black-purple loopy knobs. It was so showy that I decided to name it for my grandson. 29" scapes, 3-way branching, 28 buds, and a early bloomer. This cultivar has become an invaluable part of my breeding program for edging. Very limited.
And from Mary’s description: “this has been one of the most popular lilies in our garden.”,,,, always is striking and beautiful.”
