The first year I took notice of this daylily (and how could one possibly not notice this purple daylily?) it threw up 4 way branching on top of a 35 inch scape.  It has been absolutely stunning in a clump. You can see it from across the yard with it's lovely cream colored water mark. I knew from the first year it bloomed it had to be named for a family member.  Not just any family member.  For my brother, Justin. Justin is married to Juliane Torer and they have a lovely family of 4 children, Emma, Max, Ben, and the newest addition Olivia.  My brother is very gifted with home restoration and helped me with my landscaping business in the early years.  He has always been there for me and I will always be grateful for that. This is a small way I can say thank you. Justin Torer the daylily is a lovely purple daylily complemented with a cream colored watermark, blending into a yellow green throat. So easy to hybridize with being fertile both ways. Since it was so special I planted the first generation of offspring in a bed that blooms within a year and the kids have been outstanding.  Passes on that great plant habit very easily.  A very special daylily. Fertile both ways.  Sets pods on every cross.
