LIPSTICK LADIES (2023) Davisson�J.-Bohlayer�M. (Triple Fan)

LIPSTICK LADIES is a huge 10", unusual form, bud-building, rose red with a pink�watermark and a white edge! Scapes are 37" with 3-4 branches and 17-22 buds. It is easily both pod and pollen fertile even when its hot and I currently have seedlings this year. It has a dormant plant habit in my zone 7b. From MAMA DRAMA x NO BOYS ALLOWED. It is hardy, a great increaser�and it blooms Early-MID and sometimes reblooms�with an additional 9 buds! Tetraploid.�

The well-known hybridizer, JudyDavisson, has encouraged me to begin my own hybridizing plan and so we co-registered LIPSTICK LADIES (seedling 14-5) to get me started! Judy grew (seedling 14-5) for 3-4 years and had documented that it wasn't always consistent in its blooming. For her, it bloomed one year and the next year it bloomed and and re-bloomed with an additional 9 buds, however she also had two years where it was eaten by deer! I have grown it for two years in zone 7b and it bloomed well the first year with scapes�at 34" and blooms at 9.5". On the second year the scapes�were 37", blooms were 10" and 3-4 branches with 17-22 buds. Every year it continues�to improve for me as is quite normal with tall-large flowering types.

All plants are grown in my 7B zone Delaware garden within a couple miles of the Lewes and Rehoboth beaches. My soil is a nice blend of sand, clay and organic matter. I try to offer at least DF or TF however I do specify in the description the size fan to expect.� �
