HYBRIDIZER’S DESCRIPTION: From Trimmer's notes: "Tetraploid (Willie Marcus x Sdlg.) 30” EM Re. Ev. 6 ¼” Following last year’s very well received JEANNE DEAVER’S DREAM I’m proud to now introduce this excellent white and gold edged purple cultivar named for my son-in-law, Ehren Thomas Grill.This flower is very pod fertile for me. I should have waited a year to introduce with sufficient stock but I made many promises to introduce this spring and have too few plants to not sell out very quickly. Typical scapes this year had three branches with about 18 buds. Last year the bud count was quite a bit higher.The color in EHREN THOMAS is outstanding!"

Lovely flowers, wonderful rich purple, consistent white edge, good increase.

ABOUT BITTERSWEET FARM: Our ten acres of woods, ravines, and garden beds is located outside of Granville, Ohio. In this part of Ohio (zone 6A), we grow in clay soil amended with lots of manure, peat, compost, etc. Temperatures can drop to -20, so the daylilies I sell must be hardy enough to survive our winters. Rust does not overwinter here, and I’ve never seen it in the garden. I start seeds from my own crosses each year in our small greenhouse, and everything else is grown outside -- all of our named cultivars, as well as our seedlings, are field grown, hardy, and beautiful.
