This is the one! The alpha and omega of this genre, at least as far as breeding is concerned. When Pat Stamile spied HORNS in the sdlg bed, he remarked, “John, this edge goes beyond "fringe" or "lace." What do you call it?” I simply said, “horns.” These horn-like protuberances are a unique edge, and can, on occasion, stretch the ruler at well over an inch in length!!!  There are many excellent teeth daylilies that have proven of great importance, producing wonderful new introductions replete with every type of lace, fringe and teeth. But—so far only HORNS has given me these fantastic edges in all colors, from deep ruby red and brilliant scarlet to near-black, near-white and even intense 14 karat orange-gold. HORNS surpasses all its sibs as far as size of flower and plant—and of course TEETH! Plants are huge and HORNS grows into one of the very largest clumps in the garden. First blooms exceed 8 inches and Larry Grace measured 9 inch blooms on HORNS in AL. Scapes are straight and strong, with 3 lateral branched and a bud-count of 30 or more. Fertile both ways and a breeder extraordinaire, even throwing enormous jagged GREEN teeth! REBLOOMS!!!
