BUTTERFLY WHISPER was registered in 2006, but not introduced until later. It sold out in his catalog in its year of introduction which I believe was 2011. I love the 5 1/2 to 6" nectarine orange blooms with raised midribs for its graceful form, but it also throws occasional cristate tissue making it an interesting plant for hybridizers who are working on tet cristate forms. Scapes are shorter than registered (34" as registered, about 25" here) and it makes small fans....perhaps because it comes from Reckamp breeding and would prefer a cooler summer. It's a hard dormant. Both photos were taken in my zone 7 garden. It's a nicely branched and budded plant with a long bloom season. And it's fertile both ways. Very pretty.
