Butter Cream* (Oscie Whatley, 1998) 7, 28, Dor, M, FR, 3 branches, 15 buds, fertile both ways.  (Solar Music X Tet. John Allen).  Yellow self with a green throat.  I got my plant from Oscie Whatley the year he released it, 2000, and I have treasured it ever since.  The clump appearance is a show-stopper, an experience of super-generosity of color!  It’s an outstanding parent as well, and the increase is such that I have an abundance of pieces to distribute after saving six DFs for myself. 

If Butter Cream came on the market today, I believe it would command a selling price of $200.  Whatley was one of the foremost hybridizers of his generation, earning more awards than any other individual in Region 11.  He was known for his yellows, and many are timeless, but I think Butter Cream is without peer.  Here’s your opportunity to grow a blockbuster that has never gone out of style for a small fraction of what I paid for it.
