(Gossard, James) 2019 introduction
(Money Maker) x (Carbon Copy)

I've heard people say that incorporating southern, tender, genetics into a northern hardy plant will cause ones lines to become less hardy and vigorous in the north. I disagree. If a hybridizer starts with an extremely dormant, vigorous plant (such as pod parent Money Maker), and makes enough seed to get the genetic combination and beauty he or she is wanting, and is patient enough, then it is possible to get a southern pretty face on a northern hardy plant. Heavenly Heart's Desire is just that- it has taken hundreds if not thousands of seedlings to create this perfect combination of beauty and hardiness in one complete cultivar. H. Heart's desire takes Elizabeth Salter's gorgeous lavender "Carbon Copy." deepened the color to a striking violet with a violet-purple eye, enlarged the bloom, and kissed it with a startling green throat- all on a northern hardy, vigorous plant. One could take this further and cross with another large cultivar to make an even larger bloom, or take it back to small or mini, as Carbon Copy was only 3.75 in. An Outstanding show, garden, and hybridizing plant. .......$200 SF SOLD OUT.
