Single fans: the Daredevil version of a half-price sale!
BANSHEE CRADLESONG (Michaels 2013 introduction registered in 2012) M-ML 44" DOR 6½" (11½" wingspan) 6.2-6.3125:1 cascading spider. An apricot pink blend with rose violet eye over a large golden yellow throat. Increases much faster than its notoriously slow father. I hesitated registering this because, while it has very strong wiry scapes (doesn't even lean, much less flop), it only has one lateral and 16 buds. When I queried the Pittsburgh Iris and Daylily Society in early 2011, however, they said register it. Perhaps they were being kind, but I have loved this seedling since day one (I used to call it the most beautiful spider I've seen) and already have a number of selections from it. Fertile both ways, it’s the pollen parent of STARFISH ENTERPRISE and, surprisingly, several of my patterned spider seedlings. Makes skinny fans that are occasionally variegated with white. Seedling BWHWB-18. (BANSHEE WHISPER X WILLIE BELLE).
You are considering one bare root single fan that would be mailed in spring, 2015. Shipping usually begins in May but there have been years where I was able to ship as early as the second week in April.
The garden is state inspected. We have never had daylily rust nor daylily leafminer.
