Huge bare root plant with 3 to 5 eyes, from 'Raspberry Sundae' peony that was added to my garden over ten years ago. I have plenty of extra, so I thought I would add it for a 24 hour auction. Roots are up to 2" thick!
This will be shipped TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY for you to receive by the end of the week, so please do not bid if you cannot take IMMEDIATE shipment.
Because it is immediate shipment, I will only accept PAYPAL.
One of the famous Estate series of Peonies developed by top American hybridizer Roy Klehm to have big, fully double blooms, 'Raspberry Sundae' (1968) has a subtle, very pleasing fragrance that wafts through the gardens. The form of the fully double flower is called "semi-rose" for its combination of flat, outstretched outer petals and upright, frilly interior petals. The blooms begin in June (midseason for Peonies) on rounded, full plants 30 inches tall. MUST BE PLANTED IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIPT. Sales final, no guarantees. These are extraordinarily healthy and beautiful when they leave my gardens.
Plant 'Raspberry Sundae' in full sun and well-drained, moisture-retentive soil well enriched with organics. If you are planting more than one, space them about 3 feet apart. Hardy in zones 3-8, 'Raspberry Sundae' is an especially fine performer in northern regions; and multiplies rapidly after being established.
If you wish instructions on how to best plant your peony roots, just let me know.
