Benz seedling UW127 x Irish jackpot (Pierce 2013)
Sdlg UW-127-ro/gr (Ultimate Weapon X Kaskel#127"Best Edge") tet 22" M. Sev. 6" bloom; 3-4 way branching; 18-22 buds. This gorgeous 6" intense deep rose has been a my personal favorite in this cross since the day it bloomed. Pat Stamile walked by Sdlg UW-127-ro/gr in the sdlg bed and remarked, " John that's a keeperólook at that green edge!" The edge is far from green, but the heavy substance, ultra-flat form, intense rose color and brilliant 1/2" edge of brightest glistening chartreuse make this a unique and stunning bloom. Unfortunately after 3 full seasons, Sdlg UW-127-ro/gr remains a bit too short to justify introduction. I came close and considered introducing UW-127-ro/gr this year. The intense rose color is almost red in cool weather, and the beautiful braided edge is far closer to green than any of the introduced "Best Edge" kids, and NEVER HANGS....Very few of the current crop of gold-edged lavenders and pinks can make that claim. Gets much more voluptuous; the shot below is an average bloom. Very striking .... consistently re-blooms here and fertile both ways. I love this daylily and I will keep several fans to breed with. I have a long waiting list of well-known hybridyzers who have offered to buy or trade for this plant, and stock is very limited.

Seeds are all from true to name daylilies. All seeds are fresh from the 2013 growing season and were air-dried for at least 3 days before being refrigerated in zip-lock bags. Seeds will have been chilled for a minimum of 3 weeks by auction's end. If not planting immediately, please re-refrigerate seeds upon arrival until planting time. If refrigerating, you might want to pull them out of the bags and air dry for a few hours first in case temperature changes during shipping caused any condensation inside the zip-locks. If you are new to daylilies, please be aware that the size and shape of seeds can vary enormously. Some are round, some oblong, some large, some small. Some dry with hardly any wrinkling or shriveling, while others "prune up" quite a lot. Seeds are inspected before shipping, and we will not send any we would not plant ourselves. While the majority of seeds germinate within the first couple weeks of being planted, please do realize that some seeds are "dormant" and may take months.
