Fujita Scale x Bold Raven - 5 seeds
(pictures and descriptions are hybridizer's unless noted)
Fujita Scale: 2005. Bremer (Love's Call x Paradise Lost). Tetraploid. 26" height, 5.25" flowers. 3 branches & 22 buds. Mid season. Dormant. Like the varying intensities of a tornado, Fujita scale will have a different color each day. Which flower is a F4 on the scale? Some days it is a dark black red, others a purple feathered in silver and still others it is brown with a black purple eye. This is my wife Kim's favorite flower, I think it mirrors her many moods (I won't incriminate myself further). In any event, each variation is beautiful and all will have that wild green throat. Flowers open well in all conditions. It's pod parent, Love's Call, has been one of our best parents for purples and reds that open well and hold up relatively well in the sun. Plants are very hardy, but may produce more flowers further south. Fujita Scale is only a moderate increaser. Great plant and flower.
*BOLD RAVEN (Pierce G.) 288 (Romeo Prince x Buffalo Thunder) EV EM 45” 7” flower, 7 way branching 55 buds
From two great and pod fertile parents I have had literally hundreds of BIG full formed purple keeper seedlings, the problem has been which to introduce. You have no idea... I felt BOLD RAVEN has it all with a large full form bloom, nice ruffling and edge with a monster scape. Of course a must for all my intro’s is she must be easily pod fertile, as I eliminate the (Hard pod) pretties my lines get more and more, shall we say, friendly. Smile!
Obviously you can start your seeds any way you find that works for you, but I highly recommend starting in damp vermiculite (about a teaspoon per bag) using the bag they are shipped in and keep in the refrigerator till sprouted. Plant in sterile growth medium (I use Promix). I've had great success with this method.

The size and shape of seeds can vary greatly. Some are plump with no wrinkling or shriveling, while others are wrinkled up quite a lot. Some daylilies produce tiny seeds and others are fat and plump. This does not change their viability. All precautions are taken to protect the viability of the seeds. Seeds are inspected before shipping and any that don’t pass the pinch test are eliminated.
Ready to ship as soon as payment is received.
Bonus seeds for prompt payment.
