�(Benz) tet 24" M. Dor (Vision of Glory X Kaskel #127 "Best Edge")

This 6" showy violet purple with its uniform 1/2" brilliant gold edge is unique among all the beautiful introductions from �Best Edge� by virtue of its extremely heavy substance and also its �crown-building� hard dormant plant habit. Blooms are as heavy as plastic and open FLAT from the throat, like my best yellows from tetraploid SILOAM MEDALLION. This combination of ultra-flat form and ultra-heavy substance must come from grandparent BEYOND 2000, but I'm not really sure, so I will just count my blessings. Another feature rarely seen in this color class is the wonderful sidefacing bloom placement, which displays the blooms from every angle. Blooms are thick and heavy and flat open by 6 a.m. The gold braided edge on CHAIN OF COMMAND can grow to 3/4 inch when the nights heat up, but these fancy blooms NEVER hang despite this huge edge. Scapes are thick and strong, with 3-way branching and 22 buds and CHAIN OF COMMAND is a reliable rebloomer here in Ohio, an easy parent both ways, and proving a fabulous parent. This is the biggest, badest, boldest dark full formed daylily we have introduced to date.� Every bloom from first to last will simply knock your socks off.� 980-C was selected as the best from a long cross as Romeo Prince is so pod fertile, and it looks exactly like the photo, day after day, from May until beyond September.� Some days I think MAYANS� DAWN is deep black purple with a red tint, other days it looks the opposite.� Basically it is a deep black cherry red/purple, with a wide white edge with dashes of yellow. It has heavy substance, with a flat face and very wide overlapped petals.� Easily fertile both ways.� Stunning!
