These are my final seed offerings for the season. Many thanks to everyone who took the time to look!
Pod parent: QUILLSEEKER (Michaels 2013 introduction registered in 2012) E 39" DOR 6½-7" consistently quilled Crispate Unusual Form with curled petals in rosy peach with a red violet eye over a yellow to green throat. Among the earliest bloomers here, it sports 2 laterals and 20-29 buds. Rebloomed very well here in rainy 2014 with surprisingly huge blooms measuring 10½” across. Fertile both ways, it makes small fans. Seedling SLGMJCST4AL-1 [SCRAMBLED LEGS x (MISS JESSIE x CERULEAN STAR) X FOR ALGERNON].
Pollen parent: FLAMINGO FLAMBEAU (Michaels 2008) M 29" (36" in 2009, perhaps due to getting so much extra rain that year and in 2008?) SEV 6½" (9" wingspan) fuchsia hot pink blend with deep rose chevron eye and cream midribs over a green throat. Spider ratio averages 4:1 if given a lot of water, so is usually skinnier. Terminal Y with only 1 lateral and 18 buds here, but what a color! Doesn't curl or twist much in drought conditions but, given a summer with a bit of rain, it really starts to dance. Pod parent of CREATURE CONCEPT, pollen parent of CERISE'S PIECES, HALF MAGIC, OBLIO and PASSIONISTA, grandmother of JUDY JUNGLE CAT and I suspect I'll have introductions from it for years to come because it’s just grand for adding hot color and green throats to its kids. Makes small to average sized fans. [(DALLAS STAR x unknown) X WILDEST DREAMS].
Goals: If anything can give QUILLSEEKER more color, FLAMINGO FLAMBEAU can.
