hybridizer’s description:
So many things make special. First of all is the substance. This is a diploid which has more substance than any tetraploid we have ever seen by a factor of 50 to 75%. This level of substance proved its worth when a driving, one hour rainstorm turned every other blossom in our extensive plantings into tissue paper. 00-6 was hardly affected. A normal hot July day does nothing to this flower. It is very fertile and we anxiously await the blooming of many hundreds of diploid seedlings from it this coming summer. But what is even more amazing to us is that we have been able to produce viable seed from Substantial Evidence breeding it to tets. We expect the substance and flatness of this one may have the ability to do some marvelous things at the tet level. Because of the throat the flower can measure in excess of seven inches. This type of throat may make it possible for a daylily to produce a much larger flower than currently without any more drain on the reserves of that plant than there are now. There is no more flower there in this type, it just looks so much bigger due to the opening of the throat

CROSSES ARE LISTED AS POD X POLLEN. I WILL TELL IF I SHOW THE PIC IN REVERSE ORDER.
I AM SHIPPING INTERNATIONALLY TO THOSE WHO CAN RECEIVE SEEDS. $7 for 10 wins (I give lots of bonus seeds). U.S. SHIP IS $3 FOR 10 WINS. This includes lots of bonuses.
I LOVE HYBRIDIZING ...and have no room to plant many seeds since I have moved to California. So I have bought the plants I loved for BLUE, PATTERNS, BLACKS, AND TENDRILS..and am crossing them with some of my selected seedlings (hopefully to be introduced in the near future.)
I hope you will have some fun buying some packets of unusual combinations of color and pattern and winning a Stout Medal..or at least having the excitement of that first bloom.
I will be using my own photos when possible (of course, all seedlings will be my photos). Should I inadvertently put up a photo I have copied from the web and it is yours, let me know..I will give you credit or change it.
All seeds are 2014 seeds and will be shipped immediately after payment. Seeds vary in size and wrinkling, this does not affect their ability to germinate.
Seeds were air dried for 1-2 days, passed the "squeeze" test for viability and have been refrigerated for at least 2 weeks in zip sealed bags.
PAYPAL is preferred, but checks and money orders will be accepted. Payment to be received in 7 days, unless notified. Seeds will be mailed in bubble envelopes once payment is received. To combine wins just let me know. Postage is $3.00 for the first win, with no additional charge for up to 10 wins, if won in a two week period and shipped together.
